Awareness and Consciousness

Do you know the expression or image of the pointing finger?

Hi, nice that we meet here (again) and are together.

As I often do, I immediately fall with the proverbial door in the house.

Did you also notice?

That the words / terms awareness & consciousness, pass by more and more. Nothing wrong with that in itself, of course, but as you will notice in this writing, it has sparked something in me.

and we look at the meaning of the words acording to the Van Dale dictionairy.

• a·ware·ness

Gain insight into a situation

• con·sci·ous·ness

The awareness and knowledge of the existence of something or of itself

On the basis of the Van Dale dictionairy, you could say that without awareness, awareness is not possible. After all, if you are not aware of yourself or a situation (being aware). Can you also not gain insight into a situation or yourself (awareness). Interesting to say the least, this play on words.

Consciousness: “to be” in the language of use indicates something that is already present. It's already there.

Awareness: “Becoming,” on the other hand, indicates something that was not, but is coming. It is coming.

To gain insight into something/a situation (awareness), awareness is therefore essential. Can I still be followed?

Do you know the expression or image of the pointing finger? One finger points towards the other and the remaining fingers point towards yourself. Which indirectly illustrates the above puns.

In order to properly and fully assess a situation, I will first have to look at my role and my contribution in the whole. In other words, be aware. Do you remember… Without awareness, no awareness.

Yes, I admit it... I catch myself thinking about the other fingers after a pointing finger. I still manage to pull it in on time every now and then. Let me just say that this is part of my process of consciousness. Or is it awareness?

Pfff… Quite tiring that awareness and awareness. Consciousness is actually a strange word. After all, you are already there, from the moment of birth. Who you are is up to you. Well, say… What a trap. To define who I am, I need that awareness again.

If your consciousness is gradually giving you a slightly panicky feeling. Don't be afraid, there are numerous courses, training courses, seminars and more opportunities to learn to be aware and to become aware of yourself, whether or not under supervision.

For example, meditate, to be and become aware of yourself in silence.

• I Am

• You Are

• We Are

Almost hilarious and, to say the least, special that so little attention is paid to this in schools.

Enjoy this beautiful day!
