Hi, nice to meet you here.
I'll just jump right in and feel free to openly share my thoughts with you. Just about things that concern me or come to my attention. Today it will be a light-hearted introduction, a glimpse into my world of thought.
At least, in my experience it's airy. But let that be exactly what this piece is about. Experience… A simple word, but it can be explained and interpreted in many ways. Experience can be described as your individual experience of a situation. How you experience something has and knows many ways. This depends, among other things, on your origin, your age, your upbringing, your (life) experience, your personal preference and many other possible matters. Have you ever stopped to think about that?
For example, your experience and preference partly determine how you experience things. For example, are you familiar with the statement “looking through rose-colored glasses” OR “take off your blinders”. Both statements refer directly to, yes... Your experience. Take a simple word like water. I think I can say that this is a very everyday word and known to everyone.
If you look at the experience, your feeling with the word water, then it suddenly becomes a completely different story. Depending on, for example:
- Your situation
- Your surroundings
- Your experience
- Your age
This will evoke a certain experience (association) with the word water. When I talk about water, at the time of the Water disseaster of 1953 in Zeeland
Well, I know. We are now talking about a simple word like water. I ask you to pause here for a moment.
If you want, I'll take you with me now and we'll take a trip to an article in a newspaper or the news on TV. When a simple word such as water evokes various associations from an experience. How will this be with a newspaper article or the news? Let's take a newspaper article as an example. Who wrote it? What age is the writer? What is the writer's preference? What background does the writer have? But also, who reads the article? What age, preference and background does the reader have? All these things influence the piece that is written or read. From what experience is it written? From what experience is it read?
Water << >> Experience & Newspaper article << >> Experience.
Maybe you're wondering now, she says now; don't listen to anything anymore, read anything and don't watch anything, because it's all a matter of experience, isn't it? I wouldn't dare and wouldn't even want to. Keep listening, reading and watching.
But if I may take the liberty and say something…….Listen carefully, ask questions, inform yourself and form your own opinion and take with you, the Awareness of your own Personal Experience.
In my opinion, a nice piece of growth and learning process. It provides space for yourself and others and an opening for an open view, contact and conversation. Experience and Enjoy.
Live and Enjoy,
Nusa Ina
A matter of perception.
